Can it include miles on the trainer?

So, is it most miles wins, or shoud it be the one which is cleanest, best looked after, most developed since birth, that wins ;-)

Betty will go on the trainer soon, and I hope to use my old bike as a winter bike, so she wont get too many miles over the winter I hope!

sure, barely not a newborn, mtn!

maybe it can be like a kindergarten talent contest and we'll all 'win'. most miles, fastest, slowest?, most miles w/ a load (me me!), most races, most centuries, most upgrades, most crashes?

really, we could do it as monthly 'birthdays'?

gosh darnit! i did that too! we went for a low key ride up to a local park, and when i went to clip out - my foot turned, but i didn't pop out. i was already leaning to that side, since i had already clipped out of these new pedals countless time, so down i went. scraped up my knee pretty good, tiny little chip in celeste's paint (very small), a little dent in the handlebar tap, tiny crack in the left hood. my husband was pulling the girls in the burley, and ella (3) was pretty nervous about all the blood. soaked it and cleaned it up when we got home (finally get to use the new first aid brush to get the gravel out! hurray for me!), popped some advil, iced it a bit, and said lots of prayers to the gods of quick healing in hopes that i can still do my 5k tomorrow. this morning, it feels fine. a hair stiff, but i'll try and walk it off this morning. so...

MOST CRASHES ON NEW BIKE: TIED - yellow8t and autumn! and they weren't even moving! (the crowd roars)

oh, and i completely forgot to explain WHY, after 10 years of riding clipless, i finally joined the TIMBER! club. well, i had put the cleats to these pedals onto my mtb shoes. well, i guess i didn't tighten them up well enough, and after almost 40 miles of riding, one of the bolts fell out. so, we have achieved pivot! not what you want in a cleat! i had to actually take my shoe off and it took a bit before bill was able to remove it from the pedal. ah well, just one more reason to get new road or tri shoes so that i don't need to be moving my cleats around...oh, and i CRASHED so i need a new helmet. it was bright out, which may have influenced my inability to shift to the other side and clip out, so i must need new sunglasses. a wet suit wouldn't have hurt either, and...hee hee.

I'll play too! Just got my road bike in June of this year. Almost 300 miles! I know it's not tonnes, but seeing as I managed 6 miles on my mountain bike over the past 4 years, I'll take what I can get

-Frank

I might be a close second for non-moving crashes. I had a screw loosen on my one cleat at a stop sign and when I turned my foot to unclip, it didn't and I promptly fell over... I went home and used a whole bottle of red loctite on that screw. Hasn't loosened up since

Hey!! Add a big bruise underneath the nice, shiny scrape..and you've got my knee!!! Oh, BTW...I'm not even using clipless pedals....just a toe cage and tennis shoes! =) I don't think I could ever use pedals that I have to 'clip' into.. I'm clumsy by nature...that's just asking for trouble! =)

I too have a new bike and I too joined the TIMBER club today. I have been close before but I usually manage to save it. Today I ended up sprawled out in the middle of the street, with about 6 cars stopped at the light as an audience in addition to my friend Andrew. Oh well. At least I put a smile on some people's faces today. My only regret is that I don't have a picture because it would be a CLASSIC!

I'm in for the miles on the bike.
