From what I understand they are also looking at a location on the west coast.

I'm still not entirely sure this place is for real..some of their rhetoric is very...grating? I mean, they need a serious PR person because they're just off their potential clients. And I'm not entirely sure I buy their arguments.

The fact that they call them "Dogologists" throws a flag up for me.....

I think my dogs are just find an dandy living with me.  If I could only have their layed back stress free lives where some one feeds me then lets me wander in and out of the house the rest of day and I can sleep on one of 3 couches.  Now that does sound rough.

Bizzarre.

"You can never have your dog back again"

"If you are very, very, rich, please conact us"

"We are sorry we cannot offer this to poor people"

"Your dog will cry as you leave the island"

Who wrote that stuff????

I think it's a farce.

So I guess the dogs didn't really learn to sing in harmony in the caves or draw in the sand?

Funny stuff...

My dog is being picked on by neighborhood raccoons. Can you give me any advice?
Yes. Send your dog to Dog Island. But in the meantime, teach your dog to be tough. Buy a BB Gun and get your dog a stuffed raccoon, like the owners of our favorite dalmation, Charlie, did

These guys are gonna make a ton selling google adsense. Great idea for a hopefully harmless spoof.  Very The Onionesque.

Actually, it's a little more sinister than fun and games.  Snopes it and read about the origins

killjoy. Go back to fondeling your fluffy steering wheel cover.

I was hoping for more banter on this one.

It really is a great idea. Too bad they can't figure out a way to do this for real. There are several hundred dogs put down each month on the Island of Hawai'i. Are there any dinosaurs left on la isla morta, or whatever it is called?

That was my first thought, but it just seems way too over the top to be a cattle call, so to speak.

Judge: Lisa Simpson, I sentence you to a lifetime of hard labor on Monster Island!!
Guy to Lisa: Don't worry, it's just a name.

cut to Lisa & guy getting chased by a monster

Lisa: He said it was just a name!!
Guy: What he meant was it's actually a peninsula.

I still think that site's a spoof...

but, does anyone think there is something inherently wrong with eating dog?

I mean, I know it's not part of our culture. However, plenty of people in other cultures enjoy it. Of course, it would be wrong to steal or swindle someone's pet/property in order to get it. But other than that, is there something immoral about it?
