14000 of 18000... 77.7% of my goal. Sorry guys, both my gym and McClintock pool were closed on the 4th or I would have been finishing up.

Ok...I have pulled all the numbers, and someone/anyone please double check my numbers, and if I have reported an actual number that is not correct, please let me know.  Did I forget anyone???  Also...Brian has been MIA for like 5 days....so I am not sure if he has been swimming any extra in that time, or if he was on vacation or what.....so we probably need to hear from him before we sign off on the numbers.

Read em and weep boys...

No, actually, if you follow the same rules for decimals as with every one else it's a dead heat.

His graph...add em up: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/training-reports.asp?action=report&memberid=53488&start=6%2F8%2F2007&end=7%2F4%2F2007&duration=day&values=sumdistswim&hidevalues=0

The extra 94 was from the Zoot Sprint course. I did it too, so I know it well. Nice lake...

I was looking at his "Month - Actual" chart.

Ok Harry...if you are going to take  Brian's 1 post of 1000 M instead of Yrds, and convert that to Yrds so it gives him 1,097, I am going to go back through mine and convert all my pool swims to Yards to boost my numbers.  I was just sort of counting "units".  Whether I was in a 25m pool or 25y pool, or the OWS was counted as Meters, I just posted the "units".   Grrrrrrrrrrr............

Lost by a tenth of a percent. That's par for the course for my day today. Really sucks to see guys doing 130%, 122%, 108% to try to make up for me.

I say just make me pay the price and let them go.

Have to go for a few hours so I'll be offline.

I see... We're back to the old M vs Yds confusion.

As a tie breaker we could have everyone HONESTLY fess up to their intended unit, and calculate on that. The goals were for "percent of goal" not for actual distance, so whatever everyone's intended goal was (regardless of unit), that's what we should hold them to. If they were aware of your original comment about meters and intended their goal in Meters, and if their logs are in the wrong unit, and if they forgot along the way and reported the wrong number, then we will have to cut totals accordingly. Likewise if anyone was calculated using Meters but intended their goal in yards we need to add.

Or we could call it within 1% as a tie and everyone wears tutus

Looks like it was pretty much a dead heat.  Looks like we will have to come up with Tri Challenge #2 to settle it.  Or, we could always do jello wrestling.

DUDE if its that CLOSE I say TIE!

I am just amazed at how well everyone did! Especially Harry, good greacious alive 40,000+ yards? I cannot call the boys team losers when almost everyone was above goal and poor Chris was obviously hurt...

PLUS I don't like competition among friends anyway...I say we all dance around in a circle at OWS today and sing Kumbaya!

I agree that it was a dead heat - I wouldn't feel right winning or losing a challenge at this point due to creative math or a technicality.  I'm just happy that this motivated me to get out and swim more than I ever have in a month, and that was the point.  We can certainly have additional challenges in the future!  Congratulations to everyone for your totals - I hope that you got as much out of this as I did.

That said, if everyone disagrees and can declare a winner or loser, I am still bound to the reward/punishment - I don't want anyone to think I am trying to wriggle my way out of anything!

Actually even if you look at all the original numbers it was 2 hundredths of a percent. 97.85 vs 97.83! Any way we slice it it was too close...

So what shall be the AZ Dude vs Dudette pink tutu challenge '07 extravaganza challenge #2? Adela's been calling for a run, but we have a number on the injured roster... How about something kooky like core strength exercises logged?

That settles it! We sing Kumbaya until someone drops from TMGV (too much good vibe). Winner will be so uplifted they'll feel like spontaneously breaking into an interpretive ballet wearing a pink tutu, and the bet will be paid.

Well I don't mind calling it a tie but if you put me down as 22150 / 22000 100.68% rather than the 90% which was form earlier in the week it might make enough difference to clear things up.

A tie is fine by me.

Ok....I'm blonde, so bear with me.....I have your goal mike at 22,000, and when I go to your "Actual" numbers for June and July, and add up all the numbers that appear between June 8 and July 4......I see 19,800.  Again, I am not paying attention to Yards or Meters....just units....whatever numbers I see I add up.  So is that what is giving you higher numbers? Who thought that such a simple thing as a swim challenge would turn out to be so complicated???

If the guys win, I am ok with that. Whatever.  For me it was a tool to force my arse into the pool, and it worked!!!  So I am happy about that.  We are all winners in our own very special, special way, right?
