I assume it's actually a bike shoe that you use in triathlon b/c easy on/off, and you don't actually run in them, too ... but I don't know!

It is a road bike shoe that has a single strap vs 3 on a normal road shoe.  The single strap allows faster on and off but is not as secure.

Also, has a "loop" at the end of the shoe, on the back of the shoe for ease of putting it on or pulling it off.

To add to it.

The strap often opens OUT away from the bike so that the shoes can be left on the bike and not get entangled.

Sometimes they are designed with drain holes in the bottom in addition to the normal vent holes. This is so pool/lake/ocean water can drain out after your first transition (T1).

They are also handy if you find it necessary to pee on the bike and don't like your feet to stay wet.

You know, I was just not sold at all on this tri shoe business until you mentioned the drain holes and their multiple uses.

Thank you, all!
