Subject: Crystal Lake OWS and LOTH Tri ...
I signed up for the two-mile swim at the Crystal Lake OWS and am thinking of signing up for the inaugural Lake of the Hills sprint triathlon the next day. I'm a bit skeptical about the tri because it's the `inaugural' year and second because it's point-to-point and has two transition areas.

Anybody else up for two days of fun?

Looking forward to seeing you at the swim.  Both events are only about 2-3 miles from Hangloose HQ.  I may be stopping to watch part of the tri during my long run Sunday morning, since it won't be as long as normal (beginning taper).

I understand the concern over the tri issues.  If it helps at all Whizzz says she knows the woman who is organizing the race and believes she can pull off a good race no matter what.  It will be a long run from the swim to t1.  Once you get on the bike it will be pretty flat.  A few rollers.

If you're bringing your bike anyway you might as well ride with everyone on Saturday after the swim.  I have a feeling everyone is going to go burn up their quads in the hills in Bull Valley.

People are riding from the OWS to the Tri??? After careful thought I've decided since the bike is so short during the race it's hardly going to be a challenge so might as well do back to back days of swimming and riding. Maybe save the run for the tri.

Are you doing the OWS AND the tri or just the OWS?

I'm not sure what you mean by riding from one even to the other.  They are on separate days.  What I mean is on Saturday, after the swim, a lot of people are probably going to go for a ride through Bull Valley and some of the other areas around Crystal Lake.  I'm not sure what I'm doing, I might skip the ride and go straight home.  If people are interested I might have a little post-swim/ride BBQ back at the house.

I'm not doing the LITH Tri on Sunday, but I have a long run scheduled that morning.  I'll be close to done around the time the race starts so I might stop by to watch and then run home after T1.  If I know some BT'ers are going to do the race I'll make plans to hang around and ring the cowbell for ya.

Ohhh I thought you meant after the race people are riding their bikes over to Lake in the Hills, but I see on google maps that the two lakes are less than five miles apart. I may skip the ride after the swim and save my legs for the tri on Sunday.

EIther way, I'll be there. We should definitely get a BT crew together for some partying and barbecue.

Where's everybody staying for this? Is it a really residential area or is there a campsite? Hotels? Thanks.

Is there going to be a location for BTers to meet before or after the swim? Or does someone need to organize it? I would just like to say hello.
