Subject: Places to go & things to do in Des Moines

I will be travelling to Des Moines for business during the week of the 9th & possibly a bit after that.  I'll be staying at the Embassy Suites on the river.

Can anyone recommend any good places to run and/or swim while I'm there?

Any good restaurants or places to see as well?

Anyone care to workout with me?

There is a YMCA located near the Embassy Suites and you are also close to Des Moines Water Works park which has a nice paved trail. Restaurants in the downtown area include 801 Steak and Chop House, Splash - a seafood restaurant, and Raccoon River Brewing compnay just to name a few.
