Subject: New to tiathlons, training going well! I started training two weeks ago for a triathlon in September at the Coralville Reservoir. I'm astonished at how well my training is progressing. I've been following the 13 week Sprint training schedule on this site, and its really working well! This morning, I wanted to see just how far I have come. I decided to try a simulated triathlon at the gym. I ran 3.1 miles on the treadmill, rode 12 miles on the stationary bike, and swam .5 mile in the pool. I know its not the same as the real thing, but I was really excited to be able to do all that back to back without pooping out. It took me an hour and 37 minutes, but I never stopped, and felt pretty good when I got done. I figure if I'm doing this well two weeks into my training, I shouldn't have much trouble with the real thing in September.
I guess if the training is this exciting, the real thing must be pretty cool. I can't wait for September. Hope to see some of you there! Edited by jared1970 2007-07-04 4:06 PM
