Subject: Stationary exercise bike for indoor training?
I have a trainer for my road bike, but it's kinda a pain bringing the bike in and out all the time when I want to put some time in on the trainer. Also, the trainer seems to chew up the back tire.

Does anyone use a stationary exercise bike for indoor bike training? I was looking at a Schwinn 113. I'm not sure if it's any good though.

It looks like you have a choice of the health club type electronic bikes, and the manual spin class type bikes. Is one better than the other?

Can anyone recommend a stationary bike?

Thanks

Spin bikes are closer to a real bike, so if you can get one of those.   They are a minumum of $500 new though, so you might be better off buying an old road bike to keep on the trainer all the time.   Craigslist always has some decent old roadies for under $150.  I've seen new cheapo road bikes on ebay for $200 that would work too.   I wouldn't worry about your tires too much though, because it will take a lot of chewed up tires to pay for a spin bike.
