Subject: Frustrating plateau
I had reached my first plateau a couple of weeks ago after losing 11 pounds. I decided what I would change to try and break through it, and then - mysterious ankle injury. Too painful to run or swim. Haven't tried biking with it. And now - sick. In my town it is tough to find a doctor, and right now I don't have a car, and none of the walk-in (or hobble-in) clinics are on bus routes. So I'm kind of hooped...and really discouraged.

I'm trying to eat light and keep doing weights, at least for my upper body, until this ankle problem is sorted out. Yesterday I was able to do some normal walking, so I'm going to try and get to a walk-in clinic this week. I'm sure they will just send me for an X-ray though. And then...? It could be weeks still.

Sorry. Just had to vent. I hate when I can't get the results I want, and it's through no fault of my own.

Wow.  It must be a pretty bad injury if it hurts to swim.  Injuries are so frustrating!  I am sure the weight lifting will help you once you are up and running again.  I am assuming you probably concentrate on a lot of cardio when you are healthy, so a couple of weeks of weights might be really beneficial to you.  I hope that you recover quickly!  R.I.C.E as much as you can...

That's really annoying and frustrating...
I feel for you and will send good vibes to your injury.
I hope you are feeling 100% soon.

Just remember that the plateau is not something you are going through due to lack of willpower or desire.

Get back to it when you can.
