Just got my confirmation that the family is booked at the CDA Resort on the lake... any other BTer's going to be in there. First time in Idaho, any thoughts on the resort itself, looks quite nice... My wife and two kids (Two year old and One year old) will be with me.

We stayed there this year for the race and it was great! Ask them to empty your mini-bar when you arrive and you have a fridge for your bottles and snacks. There's free wireless and then of course you have your $75 per day to spend on food or spa or golf. We were there 6 nights and since everything was prepaid I was hoping to walk away with less than $500 overspend and we ended up with $200 and most of that was the parking costs.

I LOVED being so close to everything. For a 1st timer it was worth the expense.

The resort is nice. And really not all that expensive in comparison. It is going to be expensive to stay anywhere in the area that week so why not pay a bit extra for first class.

As far as close goes, you couldnt be closer without sleeping in the transition tent.

Unfortunately, the resort is well above my budget. It looks really nice though, and if you can afford it, it's by far the best option.
I'm booked into the Guesthouse, which if $70/night, but at least it has a fridge and microwave in the room.

I stayed 3 miles from the race site at the Super 8. I couldn't believe how good they were to me and VERY reasonable. Free breakfast, free WiFi. Having to drive on race day and it was no big deal. Despite the construction there was plenty of free parking and the town is so small you're never too far from anything.

It wasn't a luxury hotel but the beds were comfy and room was clean.

$425 a night for a single room with three nights minimum seems a bit high...
