Subject: Thule Yakima compatibility
I have a Thule rack and I need a cargo box. What I'm wondering is whether Yakima boxes would fit a Thule rack.

99% sure the answer is no.   One company made all their components to fit square bars and the other for round bars.   I am sure it was on purpose.   They do make 3rd party universal accesories though, so look around.

well here is where your wrong.. I have a Thule box which works well with my Yakima rack...

Yeah, I just bought a Thule box today and the sales dude said that all boxes are compatible regardless of the rack.

I think the incompatibility was probably originally intended to keep you pure to one system, but both company's now include adapters in the box for the other system.
