Subject: RE: Swollen Plica Band In 1986, I had my right knee scoped due to chronic pain that was getting further aggravated by playing racquetball. The DR later told me he removed the largest Plica he had ever seen. He described it as scar tissue built up around the membrane in the knee. I was pretty sore afterwards. I'm not sure if the current surgery is different than what I experienced over 20 years ago (probably). The Dr said he basically shaved some of the scar tissue away. Even though I was tender, I was up and running again almost back to normal within 6 weeks. Good luck with your knee. Defintely explore all options before making any decisions. Danny |
