Hey davetri1!

Just wondering if you are using any lubrication on the chamios? If so, what are you using? If you are not, that might be the source of the prob.

I was a cat 3 cyclist and put in tons of miles on the bike. I can honestly tell you - GO TO THE DOCTOR. I had few team mates tried to ignore it or do a little self treatment. It did not turn out well. If it gets infected, you are in for a world of hurt. The doctor can quickly evaluate it and give you a real treatment cycle. If you are doctor shy, check out:

Echo the GO TO THE DOCTOR post above.  I recently completed IMLP and your description sounds a lot like my experience.  During my build when I was logging a lot of long rides I had a couple of small bumps in the groin that I tried to self treat using a few of the techniques described in the article(s).   At one point my wife (a nurse) suggested I may have an abscess and non-persuasively suggested I see a doctor.  She didn't push and I didn't follow through partly for fear of what the treatment would be and the potential impact on my ability to complete my IM.  Fortunately neither sore affected me during the race (at least I wasn't aware of them) but after finishing what had previously been a very small bump was now a Munchkin donut hole sized lump.  When I got home I saw the doc who confirmed a non draining abscess, put me on topical and oral antibiotics and set me up with an appointment to see a surgeon tomorrow for either lancing/drainage or excision.  Not necessarily what I had in mind for my post IM recovery.
