Subject: Pleasant Prairie pre-race dinner

Since PP is a little less then 3 weeks away, thought I'd put feelers out there for BTers who may want to do dinner the Saturday evening prior.  I know that the RecPlex has a pasta dinner thing w/ Chancery that night, too...there's always that, but, since it's on my turf, thought I'd throw out the idea of going to a really good Italian restaurant that's in Kenosha (lots o' carbs, good price).

Anyone interested?  Lemme know!  I'll also be posting this on the IL board.

Well, you have to check in your bike the day before...since you're down that way, may as well have dinner...

CindyK and I will probably be there. We'll firm up the plans as we get closer.

Just in case anyone is wondering what restaurant I'm referring too, I'm talking about Cortese's on Sheridan Rd.  If everyone wants to stick w/ the Chancery, that's fine, I'm just thinking it's going to be really crowded.  Cortese's is all the way by the lake, but pretty easy to get to from the interstate.

FWIW the Chancery wasn't that crowded when he had it there last year, but maybe a change of scenery would be nice.

I'm not 100% that i'm doing the race yet or not, but if I do I won't be able to make dinner.

However, last year we congregated AFTER the race at a little snack shop across from the multiplex and that seemed to work out well.  It's a way to get away from the crowd, get some shade and relive the race before heading home.  I'd love to see y'all there again/meet you for the first time.

I won't be able to do dinner but I am definitely doing the race. Perhaps I will get to run into some of you after the race. Good luck.

Actually, I might be able to do a pre-race dinner. Are you all still planning on having one?

Absolutely.  I'll go with whatever the majority wants...but Cortese's would be a great place to go...

MarkK and I will more than likely be at dinner, depending on the time.  (need to get to bed early!)  I've never been to Cortese's but the name sure sounds familiar.

The shop HL referred to is the Common Grounds, it is on the SE corner of Lake Andrea.  The have ok coffee, great sandwiches, outdoor seating.  We had a really nice time relaxing and refueling after the race last year

I was thinking 6 pm for dinner.  Sounds like a better option might be the Chancery (by the Interstate, in Kenosha...just for Scoobysdad), just so it's close to the venue.  I think the tri website said something about reservations...I'll look it up and see what I can find.

(FYI, Cindy, Cortese's is on Sheridan just a tad north of Carthage...GOOOD food!)

Subject: Reservations have been made!

I currently have a reservation made at the Chancery near the race venue.  It is for Saturday, August 18th at 5:30 pm.  I reserved their private room, which is a $50 charge when we get there.  This part can always be changed, but I thought it might be nice to have space to get up, walk around, talk without having to worry about bumping into servers/other patrons.  If anyone wants to chip in towards this, that would be great.  If not, I can deal (or I can move us to general population, whichever suits)

The reservation is under both my name (Peggy Pazera) and indicated as the BT group, to distinguish from other triathletes.  Currently the reservation is for 15, but that can always be adjusted.  I'll go back and see who I have and post a list of those who are in and who are maybes.

Sadly, I'm going to have to now pass on dinner. My wife wants to celebrate our German heritage by going to Irish Fest Saturday night. That means I'll have to be back home by 5pm after dropping off my bike. Unfortunately, I think I've used up all my "wife credits" by just doing the race. I hope to meet up with everyone afterward though!

Unfortunately I am out. I have to go to some engagement party for a good friend of ours. Naw, it will be fun, but I would really like to meet some of you after the race if only to meet.

Sorry I can't make it. Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Ok, peeps...there aren't going to be a ton of us, but that's ok.  Just to re-iterate...reservations are at 5:30 pm at the Chancery (click here for a map from the RecPlex to the restaurant).  I'm ditching the private room thing to save cash, but since it's not going to be a huge group, that should be ok.

I'm going to be hanging around the expo until about 5 pm.  I'm hard to miss, and some of you already know me, so feel free to make yourself known.  If you have any questions on Sat, feel free to call my cell:
