Pre-race routine:

Got there early just like I wanted. Numbers on. Set up transition. Forgot my timing chip! Aargh! Get a new timing chip. Phew. Walk down to the water just as the announcer says "30 seconds." 30 seconds??! Thought I had just a little more time than that.
Event warmup:

No time for warm up... the gun just went off and I'm standing on shore. Freak out! Cap on. Goggles on. Go.

It was a bummer to be standing on shore when the gun went off, because the swim is my best part. Starting at the back of the pack was tough trying to make your way throught everyone. I sure didn't have time to get nervous, though. That was nice.
What would you do differently?:

Be at the start on time!

Found my bike no problem. Suit off no problem. Helmet, sunglasses, shoes on. Rocks in shoes... problem. So I thought. They seemed to work themselves out of the way. Didn't bother me too bad.
So many people said to walk the bike up the first little hill, but I decided to go for it. Glad I did because it wasn't that bad at all.
What would you do differently?:

This was my second time doing this race. I decided that since I knew that I could finish it that I would try to race it this year. My time was much better.
What would you do differently?:

Trained a little more for the bike. Longer distances. Just didn't have the time with the new little guy.

My transitions could definitely use some help, but I never really put too much into them. I just do what I need to do and go.
What would you do differently?:

I took a few seconds to stretch my back on the grass before I left. I don't think I would have done this again. The grass was really itchy!!

Tried very hard to run the first 3 miles very slow. Felt pretty good. First mile: 8:45. OK Slow it down a bit. Second mile: 8:30. Slow it down. Hill. Slowed down. Walked breifly through every aid station. Cooled myself down with a cup of water at each and just kept on movin.
What would you do differently?:

Overall my run felt pretty good, but I think I may have gone out a little fast.

Warm down:

Cold shower at the end and stretch, stretch, stretch.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

With the new baby it was tough to train as much as I really wanted.

Event comments:

I had such a great time at this race 2 years ago we had to come back. Lots of fun again. Second place finish surprised the heck out of me!! Very proud of this one. I've never placed in the top 3 before and I had all my friends there to support me. I loved it.

sounds like you had a great race and you were very fast!  Great job on your AG finish.  Very impressive!  Yeah, it was pretty hot on the run that day!
