Ever tie a swiss seat for rapelling? The women in my ROTC class would always enjoy the sights of men in fatigues tying swiss seats.

No, I'm having trouble visualizing that. A pic would help.

BTW, the tri top "bro" is NOT a piece of clothing for the men that really get the ladies going.

This is truly the MOST PAINFUL thread I have ever encountered.

But my question is HOW in the HE!! can anyone run in a thong?  I did it once, forgot to change...OUCH!  It made that sling thing look like fun.

And I thought toughness was measured in "What's the longest race you've finished?" Now I find out toughness is measured in undies...  ROFL.

PS...gave my hubby the "down and dirty" of this thread and showed him the pics...his response..."THAT JUST AIN'T RIGHT"

I run in a thong all the time. The only time I don't wear one, intentionally, is when I bike. Now THAT is painful!

As for the pics...*shudder* I saw WAY too much of that when I was in England. Please someone explain this to me. What in the name of all that is good and holy on this earth is "sexy" about someone 50+ pounds overweight with their undies hanging out over the back of their droopy drawers (that look like my three year old neighbor's used to look when he'd made a "boombie" in his pants), strangling the heck out of their back fat? Please? Someone...I need to know.

And don't even GET me started on the view from the other side. What would possess a chunky woman to wear clothing that ENHANCES a flabby belly? Heck, I am a small girl and there is no way I would let my belly hang out. I would NEVER have done it when I was overweight.

I have severe issues with this whole subject...trust me...

jkbostic, awww man, you're bringing back memories here.

I hated those rope swiss seats. Of couse, knowing how to tie one is pretty nifty trick as any piece of rope lets you rappel.

The best time was once when one of the FNG's tied it wrong. Crossed the two lengths that pass between your legs ( hint, you're *not* supposed to do that, for what become extremely obvious reasons once you lift the person from the carabiner to test it ).

I'd like to bring up one thought...

As someone who was on a quest for pants this evening, and someone who looked like that not all too long ago...clothes manufacturers are NOT making things easy. It is incredibly hard to find pants that fit. The fashions out there for women in general, but especially for women of size, are abominable. We know we don't want to go out of the house looking horrible. We want to walk out of the house feeling attractive, but there never seems to be clothes out there that help facilitate this. Finding clothes that flatter a womans body, one with a belly and hips and thighs is challenging. Add to that the psychological beating of everything in the store making you look and feel like you tried to stuff yourself in sausage casing. At some point you give up. You feel like it doesn't really matter what you wear, because you're a fat girl and no one is going to look at you with anything other than disgust or revoltion anyways, so you walk out the door and try to forget what the mirror told you that morning.

The girl in that picture did not make a wise choice in her pant/panty selection, but if there were better choices out there it would help.

Those belts used for rock climbing & repelling sure are nice. ;-)

So i decided to take your advice PirateGirl and go running in a rock climbing harness. It was a little breezy and i got plenty of looks, but none were the type i was hoping for. Am i supposed to wear something under it?

It is gratifying to know that the world is definitely getting smaller! The whole butt floss showing with low slung pants program(tattoos on the sacrum are also de rigeur) is full swing in Oz too. As are the muffin tops ie short tops low pants and lovely bulge around the middle - the more over hang I guess is meant to be more sexy. I know we should encourage women to lose their body image hangups but I have the feeling we have sort of thrown out the baby with the wash water! I know there are g-strings and there are g-strings and I am sure that some are runnable but as most everyone else here it is commando for me with the lycra shorts - you just don't need and extra lots of seams to rub and the heat and moisture buildup can lead to rampant crotch rot.Besides I have seen my buttocks in a Gstring and I think it looks like a suet pudding with a string around the middle! Definitley worn for the "i don't want a knicker line" reason and not for the "gee don't I look/feel attractive to men". By the way in Oz a thong is something you wear on your feet. Dx

Upon further review, I think this thread is a lot better off without pictures.

I agree with vertical_listing.

As someone who has a fat butt, clothes right now are nuts. All the pants are low-rise - so your belly is hanging out anyway and it feels like the pants are going to fall off. Then all the shirts are short, so as soon as you sit down - down goes the back of the pants and up goes the shirt. Clothes for the plus-size are a pain. Don't even get me started on the "selection" of workout clothing available for someone who is overweight.

As for thongs, they can be very comfy if they fit right.
