Tucson Tinfoilman Tri - 1st tri!

Here it is, the final week before my first tri. I've already started to have dreams about the tri. One was pretty wacked out. I was looking at a sign on a pole that had a picture of a bike pointed one way, and a picture of a person running pointing the other way. Very "Alice in Wonderland." This was after the swim, so I did the run course. There were all these officials all over the place, and I stopped to ask one of them if it was ok that I did the run before the bike. It's strange that I picked the run, because I'm coming from a biking background! That's all I remember of that one. The other one was this past weekend, and I can't remember it very well, other than it had something to do with the transition areas.

I'm pretty nervous about the tri on Sunday, probably because I don't know what to expect. I've done a few bricks, but I haven't strung all 3 sports together. I just want to finish and not kill myself. I kind of feel like it's the day before the exam. I always told myself late at night before the exam to just go to sleep, because if I didn't know it then I wasn't going to know it. Same thing with the training. I'm not going to make any great gains this week, and it all depends on how I trained over the last few months. Hopefully I'm prepared.

I think once I get to the race, the excitement of the event will take over and I'll be able to enjoy it. At least, that's what I'm hoping!

Also, I hope to see Tri Lizard there too! It will be nice to see a familiar face and fellow BTer that day.
