after reading numerous threads and everyone stressing to get a good bike fit i decided to find a store F.I.S.T. certified....and get setup with my new Specialized Transition.
when i bought my bike they did a fitting on me, i wouldn't call it high tech. any thoughts on whether a F.I.S.T. fitting is better??? what should i expect for the money i am forking out to this guy?? is it worth the money???

Yes.  Paying for a real bike fit was some of the best money I spent.  I payed $85 for mine.  For my fitting, they had me ride about 20 minutes to warm up.  Then they took a lot of measurements, did some flexibility measurements, and had me ride on rollers in the store.  After that, there were some adjustments.  After each set of adjustments, I went out and rode a bit to see if that improved the fit or not.  Expect this to be a fairly long process and to do some riding.  Dress for a ride and bring your helmet.
