Your wife is sweet

Plus she has some great insight..it is about the journey.

I'm so glad you were able to get in to the Ortho today and he was able to help you. I hope the meds clear things up and you feel better every day.

I thought that I would add my name to the ever growing list of IMLou participants suddenly on steroids. I unknowingly disturbed a nest of yellow jackets in a planter on my back patio Sunday and was stung I am not sure how many times.

Most of the stings were on my right foot and ankle. After 48 hours my foot was still too swollen to put on most shoes, so I went to the doctor yesterday and he put me on a low dose of steroids to reduce the swelling. Things are already looking better and I will be good to go on Sunday!

All the troubles will only make the finish line that much sweeter.  You'll get to tell the story about your finish, and the Nolan Ryan curveball that was thrown at you just a week earlier.

This might be old news...on slowtwitch they've posted the swim is being changed to a time trial start and will move upstream more. They expect swim times to be faster

I hope the meds help you realize your goal on Sunday.  I did IMLP a month ago and I had a friend who broke her collar bone in a biking accident one month prior.  Most people would have given up and thrown in the towel.  She actually took a small amount of time to re-evaluate and adjust, then she did the race.  Sounds unbeiievable but true.  The mind is an amazing muscle that needs to be used to its potential.   Don't injure yourself, but don't give up.  You will finish, afterall look how much you have already accomplished.
