Good morning all! First off I want to say that I am in Russia on business. Was able to find a local fitness pool (25M) and do 1200M. I'm here (Stupino about 100K south of Moscow) until next Friday 10/22, and will do my best to swim and run, but the weather is very cold (low thirties) and forecast for either snow showers or rain each day.

Good luck to all this weekend!!

Ahhhhhhh, nothing like workout logistics when you're on the road! Have fun in Russia.

Planning on a nice leisurely 2-hr ride today depending on weather here in MA.

Plan on an easy 5 mile run and hopefully a swim. We're expecting a cold front today--supposed to get down into the 60's. BUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I've gotta get the swim done before that!!!

Good luck to all racing this weekend!

I would kill for 60 degree weather. I would be out in my shorts and a tank top

10 mile run this morning. Was only going to be 7 miles, but I wole up early and had nothing better to do with my time . was going to head to the pool at lunch for a long swim but I forgot my suit at home . Think they would mind if I swam in my birthday suit .

Have a good weekend everyone.

Good Morning All:

Didn't get my FIRST EVER BRICK in yesterday until late (30 minute bike - 10 minute run - 20 minute walk) due to being stuck at work trying to make sure a collegue satisfied a deadline with the court. So, the 400m swim for today will be this afternoon to allow me some time to recover from last night.

But, it is Happy Firday. Good luck to all those racing/competing this weekend.

i'm tapering ... for my 5k Saturday felt it in my best interest to begin tapering on wednesday, eating cappacino chocolate ice cream and cool whip in the hot tub. I'm pretty sure the chemicals in the cool whip help the carbs get to my muscles more effiiciently. I AM on holidays, with my sister (not laerka - the OTHER one), and we are doing a 5k race on saturday - but lounging and chatting and hot tubbing seems to be out best training routine

Wanted to see what an Ironman swim was like, so I donned the wetsuit (its 45 degrees here in Atlanta) and gave it a go.  I swam 90 laps, 4500 yards, or 2.55 miles.  I definitely felt that "disorientation" upon exiting the pool.  Took about 15 minutes to get my full sense of balance back.  I wonder why swimming makes you feel that way?

I'll walk for an hour this afternoon.

Pooh Bear, sounds like a perfect taper. Good luck on the race. Motivated, maybe just swimming 2+ miles makes a person disoriented! Would me...

Chris,
If you were to do that, I would have to join another gym. :-(

For me it is a 4-5 mile run after work. See how I feel and how much time I have.

Adios

Today is a rest day while I prepare for my big tri tomorrow. I'm doing my own version of a tri. Instead of swim/bike/run, I'll be sitting outside a stadium drinking, eating, and watching football.
