This may sound silly but how do you stop goggles from becoming overally foggy so qucikly I think I spend over $200 a year on goggles replacing them about once a month.

Ahhhh, I actually know the answer to this question.  Baby shampoo!  I actually use baby soap.  You could try other types of soap too.  Rub a small amount on the inside the night before and let it dry overnight.  Next time you swim, rinse them off in the water and your fog free!

Ummm... defog? You can find it most places you can find goggles. Speedo makes some. If that doesn't work, Scuba shops all have it.

buy anti-fog goggles and NEVER touch the inside lens!  Dirt and gunk filling in the pitted surface of the anti-fog coating is what kills it.  It will eventually get dirty and start to fog.  When it does this, wash the inside of the goggles really well with soap (you can touch it now).  You can use whatever soap you want as long as you rinse it out really well.  Use baby shampoo if it makes you nervous.  Once clean, don't touch the inside lens.

I've had the same pair of anti-fog goggles for over a year now, and they still work fine following that procedure.

x3 on the Baby Shampoo. I've used anti-fog drops, but the shampoo works just as well.
just don't get your fingers in there when rinsing and make it squeaky clean.. that defeats the purpose.

Does a cholrine pool effect them and if so should I rinse them when I get out of the pool?

Yea, you need to rinse them with fresh water after pool use too. I found some goggles with the anti-fog coating didn't really hold up to heat after being left in my car during summer.

Doesn't anyone use spit any more? When I'm getting ready at my locker when doing laps or my truck doing OWS, I just spit and rub it along the inside of the lens. Then rinse when I get to the water, don and swim.

That's the only way I've ever done it, works well enough. If the opportunity presents itself, I may try the baby shampoo trick just to see how that works.

I still spit in my goggles.  That's what I was going to recommend, too.  I do that before I swim and it works well.  Every few months, I put in anti-fog drops.  Combination of the two keeps my goggles fog free.

If you forget your baby shampoo you can just squirt a drop of the shower soap in them while you're rinsing off before your swim.  Rub it around and rinse in the shower, and you should be good.

I like my Barracuda goggles but all goggles i have ever tried fog including the anti fog cudas. I clean the lens also and let a tiny bit of water in. That swishes around and cuts the fog off. Fog drops do seem to work for about 15 minutes. The old fav spitting in them seems to work too.

All you have to do it keep them clean. I do a quick wash with dish soap before I use them - every time. I swim 2 or 3 times a week and it is just part of my routine, before I leave for practice I wash the inside with my finger and a drop of dish soap. Rinse and go. I never dry them.

Goggle should be lasting you a year or more, easily.

I've used spit on swims well over a mile and never had a problem. I don't understand spending money on a special solution when I have an endless supply of saliva.

I was diving a few weeks ago and found the best defog, dish soap. before you put your goggles on just wash the inside out with dish soap (any kind will work) and just rinse them realy good. I used every kind of exspensive dive shop anti-fog there is and nothing works like plain old cheap dish soap. I wash them in the morning and dove all day and my goggles never fogged up. Lucky

The only problem I ever heard about saliva was that it can result in eye infections due to bacteria. I do not know if that is apocryphal or not.
