Subject: First Tri in San Diego!
Hi Everyone!
I just moved to San Diego from Hawaii recently. I am doing my first race in San Diego in October, the Subaru Women's Triathlon. I am scared!
Is anyone doing this for the first time just like me? I am not that strong swimmer and I am not used to swimming with a wetsuit. I was told that wetsuit would help me float better. Well,,,, my chubby bottom half of my body float too much, almost make me upside down. Any suggestion?

Not sure what part of San Diego you live in but there are several groups that regularly host Open Water Swims for beginners.

Nytro does one every Friday Morning and usually meets at Moonlight Beach. (They do Swim Clinics for some of the local races and move the scheduled swim on race weeks)

The San Diego Tri Club also has several OWS events on the calendar that are closer to Downtown. (La Jolla Cove as I recall)

If your interested in the Nytro Swim, hit the Nytro.com Website (Under Special Events) to get all of the details and to RSVP.

Good luck and it should be a fun race. Oh, and welcome to BT
