Subject: Blood clot?
Instead of a blister I have a little patch of blood on the top of my third toe. Do I pierce it? Do I leave it alone? What do do???

Is it a raised bump? It's probably a blood blister. I think you can just pop it like you would a regular blister, with a sterile object, obviously (or not, but just don't tell us!) - I had one once as a kid. It wasn't a big deal.

You can pierce it, but in my experience they will heal more quickly if you leave them alone.

I think we popped the one on my finger cuz it didn't go away for awhile. I always pop blisters - then I slather them with neosporin and keep them bandaged - that seems to work well.

The only reason I say not to pop it is that I've popped blood blisters and then had the site get infected (even with neosporin).  This doesn't seem to happen with regular blisters - those I always pop.
