Greetings everyone!

My name is Jason and I'm a 27 year old noob dood from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Just got interested in doing a Tri (sprint) in the last couple weeks, and am now in training to do a so called Tri at an indoor health club mid November. To me, it would be a great way to get my feet wet, as everything is in a controlled climate, and I have an exercise bike/treadmill/pool available at the hotel I work at, so I'm sure I could get very comfortable with that pretty quickly, and then be ready to go full boar next summer.

Any help/suggestions on doing an Indoor Tri as my first event?

Any other newbs near Milwaukee?

Hi Jason, welcome!

The best advice I can give you is to use a training plan and log your training. Having a plan will pay huge dividends and logging what you've done can be a great motivator on those days when you don't feel like training.

 Good luck!

Jason,

Welcome to BT!  Lots of folks from SE Wisconsin around.  Great site - lots of info and friendly people.  Don't be afraid to ask questions or search the forums for answers.  Good luck training for your tri.

BTW, I went to high school with a guy named Jason Bohn.  He's on the PGA tour now making more money in 1 year than I have the past 5 combined.

yeah, it's kinda funny. I moved to Milwaukee about a year ago, and got a job working with US Bank.

A couple weeks later, they had the US Bank Golf Championships in Milwaukee and Jason Bohn was in the running.....so I had some people believing that was me for awhile.

Silly people.

Yep, I remember that.  My parents called me to ask me if I'd been following that.  Funny thing is I always thought his older brother, Jim, was a better golfer.

Jason always does well at Milwaukee, well for at least the first 2 rounds

Welcome to BT Jason!  As hard as it is to welcome you, due to the beating that the Badgers just put on the Rebels, I will do it anyways, cuz in here, we are all family!

Enjoy the site, and the sport that is TRIATHLON!

I dont think so

Our only 4 sellouts have been when Wisconsin came to town.  Your fans travel well!  I am a die hard Rebel Fan, but I think I am only one out of maybe 10 or 12.

Hey, Jason. Welcome. My name's Jeff, also from the Milwaukee area (New Berlin) and a relative newbie to Tris. Completed my first this past August, Pleasant Prairie Oly. Been "training" since Winter when I grew tired of being fat and tired. Liked the variety and felt compelled to apply the exercising to something more tangible.

This site is fantastic and I'm sure you will find the other athletes helpful and inspirational.

Here's hoping for your success and continued enjoyment. Make sure you wave the next time you're out running/cycling. I'll be waving back.
