Subject: Winning my first Tri (sort of)
Saturday I ran in the Crystal River Sprint triathlon and my 11 year old (Cassidy) was so excited about the concept that she staged a mini tri of her own this afternoon. The field consisted of myself, my twin 15 year old daughters (Becca and Chelsea), and one of my daughter's boyfriend (Jordan) a 15 year old boy. Cassidy laid out the course. A 100 yard swim in the family pool, a 2 mile bike ride around the neighborhood, and a 1 mile run. The transition area was setup in the drive way. Jordan easily won the swim portion, but I closed most of that gap on the bike leg, and passed him on the run. I crossed the finish line running through the banner Cassidy strung across the backyard gate. Jordan took second place, and Rebecca and Chelsea were both DNF. Thats a tough race when half the field doesn't finish. As my first place medal Cassidy awarded me my own 2005 MS 150 ride medallon.

While this might not have be the largest or most pretegious race to be reported here, it certainly was the cutest, and I think I may have a future race director on my hands. Maybe some day I can talk her into joining me in a race. Unfortunately so far at least she doesn't like to run, but I think I sparked some interest this weekend.

How awesome that you had your own tri. And of course, more so that you beat one of your daughters' boyfriends. Way to go!

Eh, I heard drafting was rampant and the aid stations left MUCH to be desired.  Your 11 year old daughter really needs to work on that.

Kidding.  Sounds fun!
