Agree that an on-line fitting wouldn't work, but there are some "DIY" kits (bikefittingkit.com ) that could probably do a passable job. Nothing beats a hands-on fit. Prices are going to vary significantly, depending on where you go. I spent $125, which was pretty inexpensive for NYC and got a hands-on 3-4 hour fitting, but with no computer-aided power testing or any of the high-tech bells and whistles. I also had places quote me $300 or more for a fitting, but since my bike only cost about $500, that didn't make a lot of sense (not that I could have afforded it anyway ).
If you're buying a new bike, lots of places around here (including R&A and SBR Multisport ) include the FIST fitting in the purchase price.
