Subject: Stuffed up from Swimming
Help!!!

I have been swimming in the early mornings 5 a.m. by the time I go to bed that night my head is all stuffed up and i cant breath or sleep. What is going on? am i allergic to the chemicals, breathing wrong, any ideas. I really dont want to give up the swimming but at this point i really dont know what to do.

If it is the chlorine then you could use a nose clip or ask your doctors for a nasal spray, might work!!!

I get stuffed up too, but luckily it goes away by the end of the day usually.
I know some people take a Claritin or similar before going swimming and swear by it.

If you don't mind swimming with a nose clip, that will likely solve your problem. You can also try using a saline spray before and after your swims. Lastly you can try meds such as a steroidal nose spray, decongestant, and/or antihistamine.

The cause is likely a sensitivity to the chlorine, or other chemicals, in the pool.
