I know this may sound crazy but do any of you guys out there feel out of place in yoga class? I did my first one a few weeks ago loved it but felt weird in a predominantly female class. Please give me some inspiration!

In every yoga class I've been in, there have been at least one or two men. Though one of them really needed to wear longer shorts and go to the back of the room.....

Ugh, he wore shorts to a yoga class? Even I know better than that. Maybe I should start working these tips in here now...

< HIJACK>
Tip 1: The only time women want anything to do with men's "parts" is when women are in a drunken group of 7 of their best friends AND "Chippendale" is imprinted on your paycheck. i.e. - If you don't wear leather break-away pants and a bowtie to work, keep it covered.

In the one class I did, I didn't feel out of place until it was time for partner work and the instructor had to pair up with me. You know the feeling. "OK, time for partner work." WHOOOSH! "Hey, why am I in the corner all by myself?" It was a cool class, but since I only have the time to fit ONE extra class in, I picked Taiji. Maybe once I get to the point where I can breathe WHILE being in those postures, I'll make the time to do it again. I really did enjoy it though. Oh well, the youngest person in my Taiji class and the oldest in the Yoga class...

I did yoga for two years and never felt out of place.  Hey, I enjoy being in a room full of women in workout wear doing all sorts of mind bogling poses!  Maybe I should have signed up again this fall....hmmmm....maybe in January.  :-)

All of my yoga classes have guys in them. There are more women than men, but there are always SOME guys. Yoga was orginally, historically, a discipline only for men. Maybe if you keep reminding yourself of that, it will help. Or you can borrow my son's attitude. He takes yoga to meet girls -AND he thinks I don't know this

He was wearing running style shorts. I tried to avert my eyes.

Do Chippendale's guys go down to nothing? I thought even they kept a little thong on or something? Obviously never been, but I'm surprised it would be a very successful venture if their junk was flying around everywhere.

Um, yes, obviously Never been there either (on either side of the stage), so I can't tell ya. Anyone know the answer? Should we start a new thread? Morbidly curious now... See Kim, we've wrecked yet another perfectly innocent thread

And it's "parts," not "junk."

Parts, junk? Hmmm, sounds like we're running a salvage yard, not discussing genatalia.

Ooh, funny story: There was this girl at my high school named Jenna Taylor, very sweet girl, Preacher's daughter. One day I was discussing her with some friends of mine and, TOTAL fruedian slip, I accidentally called her "Jenna Talia". Apparently until I came along (I had just moved to the school), no one had noticed that little problem with her name. And then I created a monster with a completely innocent accident (well, I suppose it probably stemmed from having my mind in the gutter, but the accident was innocent). She never lived down that nickname, poor girl. And she HATED me for it. She even took me aside and told me how horrible it was for her, and CRIED. All from a slip of the tongue.... I hope wherever she lives now, no one notices.

I'm such a horrible thread-hijacker....

Oh so YOU'RE the skinny, white guy with the big fro. You're very good at headstands. And I really wish you weren't.
