I think a perfect time would be after the new year because:

1. it'll be easier to fit in everyone's schedule due ot vacation/travel/holiday plans.

2. it'll be cold as hell around here and good to get together and feed off of each other's motivation

3. initiate relationships that we'll hopefully make use of a few months later when we're loggin miles outside

what do you guys think of a january/february time frame to meet up?

Do you want to do a group thing NOW... or should we wait until spring -such as it is, here in the midwest? I'm almost wondering if we're too close to the holidays to pull something off. BUT, if you want to come out here and ride some weekend, we can do that. I'll cook for us, afterwards.

But, I'm going to say it again, I'll be bringing up the rear in whatever activity we plan. I'm okay with that, but I want to warn people that MY best and YOUR best are probably not the same thing.

I think I'm all for the January get together... for pure selfish purposes really... I'm too out of shape to join in any sort of work out. ... If anything I'd designate myself the group cheerleader, group photographer, timer or something [food taster].

MAYBE [just throwing this out there]- we could meet for social purposes for those of us eager to meet pre-holidays, no pressures for us 'less-in-shapers'...

What a wonderful idea! I can't wait to meet all you Chicago area BT people. happy happy joy joy!

see you soon, let me know!

Wow, what a conversation just by saying hello! I think if there is any get together, we should just do it! Any excuse to put it off just leads to another excuse down the road. I suggest we do a get together the first or second week in December! Any takers?

I'm booked solid straight through Christmas.
If any of you guys would be interested in one of the suburban Indoor Tri's.... I'll join in! They're pretty fun!
I'd opt for after the first of the year... a social event/gathering, or an Indoor Tri... There's a whole circuit of Indoor Triathlons in the suburbs....
Here's info re: indoor triathlons in general... great for us Midwesterners!
And I'm still looking for info regarding the 2005 Midwest Indoor Triathlon schedule....I'll post it when I find it... I think there's a circuit for the city and then a circuit for the suburbs... you don't have to do the whole circuit.

LW- have you tried looking in the "Chicago Amateur Athlete" Mag? They may have it posted there this month.

Alright... so who's going to try to coordinate? Maybe we should start by listing dates? And who ever can make it, makes it... if not they're in for the next time [I'm assuming that things are going to go SO well the first time, we'll have our own little BT group forming for the Chicago- land area].

Oh Alright... I'll start listing just week-end dates.... someone else can take over the location/what work-out aspect of it.

Week-end of:

November 20th
November 27th
December 4th
December 11th

ANY TAKERS?

[how fun!] :0) Milly

I vote for a Sunday. I teach all day on Saturday Don't ask. It's a nightmare.

I guess the weekend of the 4th-5th of December would be best for me. People could come out here -assuming it's Sunday. I mean, you could come out here on Saturday, but if you wanted to meet me you'd have to come to my class, and I don't know how I would explain the bikes and the helmets.

I'm from Geneva. Welcome.
Anyone interested in maybe getting together as the Chicago BT Chapter. WE can maybe ride together or run. Maybe have informal training seminars, i.e. how to change a tire, winter gear for running and biking etc. I know we can help each other find the best rides, routes etc.
Just throwing it out there.

Hi, Abby! I've invited people out here to DeKalb for.... I don't know. Maybe a bike ride and certainly some food. Now we're trying to puzzle out some dates that will work for people. As in, do we meet before the holidays or give that up for lost and meet afterwards for... something? It's harder to go for a bike ride in January. So I'm not sure what we'd DO, but we could always sit around and compare aches and pains and training schedules

It would be a long grueling drive for you, I know, to come all this way
