Comments: Pretty good run considering hills and the fact that I was off course for a little bit. No idea on pacing, but I feel as though miles were varying between 9:30 - 10:30 depending on hills, etc. Walked a little on hills during last 2 miles. Near the end I passed a water station and was told I was at Mile 11. This was very discouraging as that would have put me 5-10 minutes behind my goal pace. As a result I didn't kick as well as I could during last 1-2 miles. Turns out, the water stop was actually closer to Mile 12. I believe this cost me a little time because I gave in a little. They really needed mile markers on course. What would you do differently?: Train on hills. Follow course. Hope they have mile markers next time. Post race
Warm down: Not much. A little walking. What limited your ability to perform faster: See above - hills, course, getting off track. Event comments: With all the negative, this was a personal best - 2+ minutes faster than my previous (and first) half marathon. Looking forward to more races in the future. I know I can get under 2:10 with good decision making. Last updated: 2004-10-23 12:00 AM

Stayed in hotel 15 minutes from course as race was 2 hours from my house. Up at 6:00 am to get there early. Didn't need to be there that early. Had to kill a good 45 minutes. Water, Yogurt smoothie, iced green tea.
Light running and stretching. Cold 50 degrees before race start. Race ended up starting 20 minutes late, which had me warming up twice.
