Event warmup:

Stretch during the pre-race talk. Since the race was long I figured I'd warm up the first few miles.

Comments:

My training for this race consisted mostly of 9-10 mile runs with minimal elevation change. So this distance was a bit out of my range, and I didn't train properly for the hills -- especially the last climb which destroyed my race time.
What would you do differently?:

Train more hill work and increase my base. Maybe trail shoes.

Warm down:

Stretch.

Event comments:

Each race that I sign up for is really to push myself harder to prepare for.

Course: According to my Garmin, the race was only 10.34 miles. Started out at the outdoor amptheatre and down a hill. The last 3/4 mile or so was uphill... brutal. There was a section of the trail that was a narrow path and graded left to right. That was tough to run on, especially without trail shoes. Otherwise the trails were wide enough for passing and comfortable running.
