Subject: Prayers for my baby - that she passes her exam

As I've posted before my eldest Alyssa was placed in the ESl classroom this year - and so far it's been a miserable year for her.  She is just sooo above and beyond her peers (socially, intellectually and emotionally) in this class that she is miserable and the school refuses to move her to a higher level classroom. I won't go into that, I don't need to have heart palpatations today that is how upset I get....

So tomorrow, ALL day she will once again take the GT (gifted/talented) exam.  She has taken this exam before and not tested into the program due to math portion of the exam.  Please say a prayer for my baby that she does well on this exam and she tests into the program... which would require the school to move Alyssa to the GT classroom.

Tomorrow I plan on sending her off with a good hearty breakfast, meeting her for lunch with a good lunch (they eat at 1030am just 2 hours after school starts) and making sure she gets to bed early and is well rested... but prayers are needed - a little help from the  MAN above never hurts!

Thanks, Cathleen

Done

And don't worry too much. I've seen private/gifted schoolers do lowsy in university, and I've seen rural-schoolers (all go in the same class) graduate with honours and go to med school.

Since my kids have taken this test, I understand how draining it can be.  Prayers sent your way!

I think a lot of the kids don't get in on the first testing. In our district they are looking for out of the box thinking and reasoning skills. I also think they might not allow kids into the program until they see the child test again to see if the parental support is really there. I think many parents might just test em once and drop it if they don't get in on the first shot. They can see if the support at home is really going to be there for the additional time and effort the program demands. Don't sweat it she will do fine. We will put in a good word upstairs for her just the same.
