As of today, Tuesday, November 2, 2004, I , Lisa Taylor, am in for the 5k.  I am also in for some chow afterwards.  But as I stated before, I like good food, no bar crap, any suggestions of where we should go?  I'm not from around there.  How far away is Brighton from there, they have a Stillwater grill that has decent food.  But I'm open to suggestions.

I plan on running the 5K.

Any suggestions about how to meet up? I know AA rather well, but I've never been to this park before...

Fromer,

if you are familiar with the area, I nominate you to hook us up.  Is that ok?

Well, I'm sure between Charles (he lives in AA) and I we can figure something out. I'm going to have to check were exactly this park is as I don't want to drag people all over AA.

I do know a good Italian restaurant on Stadium though.

Here's the Italian place, Paesano's: http://www.paesanosannarbor.com/

Here's another place I recommend: http://www.redhawkannarbor.com/
It has a bar/ pub feel...but a bar by AA standards is not ordinary by any stretch of the imagination.

The park where the race is held is at least 15-20 mins drive from downtown Ann Arbor. Just so that everyone gets a rough idea. =)

What kind of food are people looking for? Mexican/Jap/Chinese/BBQ????

getting me hungry...

I'm up for about anything, I LOVE Zingermans, however, it may take forever to eat there on a weekend, am I right?  So I will restate myself, I'm up for anything.  Did I  mention that I'm getting excited to meet all y'all?

Zingermans? LOL. If we go there then I'd better do the 5K AND the 10K to off-set the calorie intake!

Although I'd love to run next saturday, I am going to be out of town up north. However, I was wondering if any Michiganders know of a website that is listing the 2005 Tri Calendar. I've got a few that I used this year but they all still list last year. I was hoping to plan for next year.

thanks, and good luck next week

Matt,

I don't know if you would be interested in doing races in Ohio.. but they have an excellent series. The new race dates will be out in November. The website is: http://www.hfpracing.com

I wouldn't expect a michigan tri calender to be up until the new year.

You can check these two sites for possible future dates though (and I wouldn't expect to see much change in dates, either): 3disciplines.com and cooltri.com

They're far and away the powerhouse tri organizations for Michigan.

So now, its a matter of how many people is turning up =)

Have a great day training guys, keep the spirits up....the weather isn't too good here in AA.

Only the BEST Deli in the world, no really, it has been featured in TONS of food and wine, and 'better living' magazines.  Damn tasty food, but you won't get off cheap.  But hey, you get what you pay for and you will leave fat and happy.  They make thier own cream at thier own creamery, for desserts and such, the corned beef is out of this world, they even have a lean version, and thier home made deserts are orgasmic.  Can you tell I like it?  I make a trip there once a month to have lunch and buy meat and cheese.  The cheese by the way is the largest selection I have ever encountered.  who knew you could pay 40 bucks a pound for cheese?

Thanks Jody for asking my question.  Maybe I'll have to do this race now to experience Zingermans meet a bunch of BT'ers.

Zingermans is also well known for their bread.

We're talking about going to their relatively new restraunt and not the market place right?
