Great idea, I wouldnt mind running. Problem is my foot still is still hurting from the Chicago Marathon, going to see the doctor tomorrow. Pain came back after a short 3 miles yesterday.

If my foot says YES, I'll be running. =)

If my foot says NO, I'll be cheering for you guys. =)

I was bit concerned that this idea was going to explode in my face...guess not!

Trixie emailed me, and I'm going to say she is a STRONG maybe.

Daryll, that guy who hasn't been around lately ;-), said he would probably show if this gathering came to fruition (but he won't run due to a bum ankle).

What about the GR crowd? I'm going, and I'm a west-sider. ;-)

Haven't heard yet from Gary. ;-)

If I go I'll have to take it very easy, I'm recovering from ankle surgery, so we could run together. Watcha think?

Oh, come on, it's only a little 5K.

One thing I didn't realize was that the 5K starts LATE. 11:30! 10K starts at 10.

From what I gather, most of us are planning on doing the 5K.

Actually, you can sign up to do both!

The event is called the "Iron Turkey." From what I gather if you sign up for the event by Nov 1st you are given a pair of fancy "Iron Turkey" running gloves.

Where's Gary?

Has anyone seen GARY?

Do I really need to send out an APB for a guy who is always on BT?  =)

Grand Rapids checking in....

I'll be passing. I'm a little busy that weekend already. Plus, if I went over there I'd want to run the 10K, but sounds like the party will be over at the 5K.

Thanks, though, and I'll catch up with ya somewhere out there. And thanks fromer, for rounding us all up.

OK, I'm here. Been cogitating on whether its worth the 90 min + drive.  I was thinking of doing both, to make it worth the drive?????   I'll let ya know.

Didn't you say you wanted to work on your SHORT runs?

Aren't you the least bit curious if you can do some sub 7 minute miles? I think you are.

I was also going to suggest grabbing some lunch/BEER after the race. So factor that into your utilitarian mind-set, Gary.

From what I gather, Gary, the 10K (for men and women) starts at 10. The 5K (for men) starts at 11:30. So I'm thinking the Iron Turkey is not a continuous run; rather, you literally have to run in two different events. I had thought you would run the two together, guess not.

Your servant,

Greg

Yeah. *laughs* I agree about the food trixie. I'm not big on eating bagels, bananas and orange slices after a good run.
