You bet, I was a little worried about the distance also but like you said there is all winter and spring to get ready for it. I'll be living at the Y from now until then LOL.

I have a running back ground also and have competed in a few 1/2 marathons and some smaller local fun runs, but never done a half after swiming and cycling. That's gonna be interesting on how my body will do. Have you started your training for the Boise Ironman? I've just been doing lots of running so far.

Specific training no....

I have done the swim with no problems the speed needs to increase though. I am biking about 20 miles at a time but I haven't increased it yet. Running for me is the WEAK point. I need to get my running more consistant.

I've signed up as well.  And I was at our tri club meeting this morning and it looked like we will probably have at least 5, maybe 10 people from our club coming.  I'm living down in Lehi, Utah..but I moved here from Boise.

Cool Welcome to the thread

I am hoping to complete this race it will be a big distance jump for me from sprint to half. Which club are you a member of?? I was thinking of coming down and see my parents in the spring and run the Timp tri. Have you ever done that one?

Looking forward to this one. Anyone here from Mountain Home area. The roads out here are great for a bike ride and long runs. Especially the road out towards the base. Little nervous but mostly excited.

AF,

I am in the same boat as you. Jumping from sprint to H IM. I live in Lewiston, ID(north 250 miles) I will be coming down a few times in the spring to ride the course once it is offically relesed. If you would like to go out and ride as well just keep in touch.

Resurrecting this thread a little

I'm volunteering for this race as I want it to be a success so that they'll hold it again next year. Because I want to compete next year.

I'm from the Boise area--if you have any questions let me know.

This race starts at the top of Lucky Peak Damn. The bike ride down the hill is going to be tough. It's pretty steep incline. But it looks like it will be a nice ride through the country. The run looks a little boring .It's too bad they're doing two laps on the greenbelt when there is enough space to run the greenbelt without a loop....

It's just pretty steep coming down off the dam first thing . Then it evens out nicely and should be an easy ride. I'd rather ride down than up!
