do not like this month.  do not like Halloween.  My sweet brother, at the young age of 19, died Oct 30, 1976, and for that reason I would much rather skip to Nov 1st.. it is here yet?

31 years a little late, but I'm sorry of your loss and for you not being able to have that time with him.

thanks   Now as an adult, I feel more sad for him, and what he missed in life, and what he didn't get to experience   Thanks for your thoughts...

I'm just trying to get through this month without gorging myself on Halloween candy.  I'm already pushing the candy corn limit.

Limit?  I was never told there was a candy corn limit.  And if there is, whats the penalty for breaking it?

The penalty is eating more than your fair share in wax in one year...

I love October for the beer. You get the Oktoberfests and some of the Pumpkin Ales. NICE

Switch to Canadian Thanksgiving, it takes place in October which would mean TWO Thankgivings!

I love each season in turn, and although I'm sad to see summer leave, I'm looking forward to autumn.  I even put out a pumpkin and some pretty mums on my front walk today, to share a bit of the joy with my neighbors.

In California, though, the seasons sorta just melt into each other, and although it's cooler, it still feel summery outside.  I miss living in the midwest sometimes, and this is one of those times.  I have fond memories of pulling out my warm sweaters and jackets and traipsing off to the cider mill for some fall fun.  Harvest around here is all about grapes, and most of the apples were picked months ago.

I think I'm going to go make the first pot of soup, seeing as how the weather is cooler and I can actually cook indoors now.

I am really looking forward to fall and winter since this is going to be the first fall and winter for the wife and I in our house. We moved in at the beginning of May, so fall and winter should be cool. Plus I love the first snow and snowboarding.

I too am looking forward to the change in season.  I have lived down south most of my life and this is the first year that I will get to experience all four seasons.

It was mentioned already but I am a huge fan of pumpkins and mums as well.  I will get mine picked up over the weekend to join my scarecrows that are already hanging out on the front porch!  I have friends who for their anniversay bring pumpkin and mums to their friends, should be coming soon.

Yay! October! Yay! Hunting is gearing up! Snow is occasionally falling! Winter is drawing near! I can pull out all my cute clothes (for some reason, I'm way casual in the summer, way dressy in the winter). Love it!

It's like going back to school as a kid.  All summer you wear shorts and t-shirts.  But for autumn, you get to go shopping and get a whole new wardrobe.

For some reason it doesn't feel like October when it is still 90+ everyday. Hopefully that will end soon.... On the bright side, I get a month long Halloween indoctrination from my 6 year old
