Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Good morning, folks! (Or good night, as the case may be) Here's the thread for our first weekly weigh-in... Let us know your new weight & how your other goal is going (did you meet it? did you make progress?). Also, if you want to change your secondary goal, let me know. Question of the week - What's your favorite fall sport or activity? I'll post updated charts sometime later on Monday. Hope everyone has had a great week... Kristen |

Pro 4507 Simpsonville, SC | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 OK here it is: Start weight - 146 Goal weight - 138 I know this doesn't sound like much, but I have been trying for a year to get rid of those last ten pounds. I seem to get stuck at 143 then gain. I did pretty good with my no binges in the afternoon. Wednesday I had a little slip up, because we were having a late dinner. I went a ittle overboard on my snack, but not what I would consider a binge. It is on!! I will reach my goal! Pam |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Starting weight: 162 Current weight: 161 (-1) 2nd goal: corex3 - YEP! Yesterday the scale was a little lower, but this morning it scooted back up - oh well. I guess this week wasn't the best for clean eating. I was home with the family last weekend (pizza, drinking), on Monday I had a work event (dinner too late, dinner too unhealthy), and last night I went out with an old friend (dessert)...but other than that, I ate OK. I can't pick between my favorite fall activity (trail running) and my favorite fall sport (college football), so I'll just say both. Hope everyone had a good week! Kristen |

Pro 4507 Simpsonville, SC | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Ooh. I missed the question. Favorite fall activity: hiking. I love to hike in the fall. The leaves changing and the cooler temperatures make this really enjoyable! And of course, watching football is a great alternative when the weather is yucky or I'm feeling lazy! Pam |

Champion 6107 Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red... | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 I'm moving this from the other thread for TamiMoreno70 **************************** Weigh In Friday Week One - 233.5 Week Two - 226.8 (- 6.7) Although I am TOTALLY surprised at this loss because I failed to write down or count anything I ate - I did hit the bike a little more this week. Next week I'll have to really make an effort at the food thing because you can't do it one way or the other - it's got to be a combination of diet and exercise. Next weeks goals: keep a food diary Edited by enders_shadow 2007-10-05 7:37 AM |

Member 64 Waterloo Ontario | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Well now that the scale is sorted out. Start weight: 270.6 Week 1 Weight: 268.8 I have reduced my starch intake, primarily in the am at breakfast. I have increased my fruit consumption (apples) and increased my water intake. I have started hockey again, once a week pick-up, that is a good thing. Jim |

Veteran 288 | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Chudley is holding steady at 232 despite a great week of activity. I think that I am not eating enough fruit. This time of year around here the "fresh" fruit turns gross! I have been eating a lot of the Sun-Rype all fruit bars - awesome nutritional value with 2 servings of fruit per bar and only 130ish calories. BUT it ain't the same as mother nature's best. My intake of water has been a little down as well. I find it difficult being back in school to drink enough. I don't want to keep running to the washroom every 1/2 hour! I try to swill as much as possible in the evening If my plateau continues...I may have to bite the bullet and make the washroom trips...my instructors will "love" me! Keep moving and stay POSITIVE!!!!! (I checked in on the thread...here I am!) |

I've only worked out 2 times so far this week, but I'm planning to do some today and tomorrow, which will put me at 4 for the week. My eating wasn't too bad this week; I didn't have any sweets. Portion control and cutting back starches is probably what I need to work on most. Fav. Fall Activity: Gotta be hiking. |

Master 2235 Pacific Northwest | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Good morning....haven't weighed yet--the baby is asleep in my bed next to the bathroom with the scale in it...so I will update that in a bit. I am choosing to have a little bit of quiet online time instead! Fall sport....I love hiking, although this year it is colder and wetter than usual so I don't know how much of that will actually get done. I am doing a trail run in a couple of weeks, though! Hopefully I will get in some nice bike rides before true winter sets in, as well. My challenge to you guys--FOOD TRACKING FRIDAY! End the week by logging everything you eat today, share it here! I'd say one post at day's end should do it. And don't forget to inspire....!!! |

Veteran 422 St. Louis | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Starting weight 132 Today's weight 132 I visited my parents last weekend and did HORRIBLE. I'm embarrassed at how much crap I ate in the car. I managed to gain 3lbs over the weekend and have done perfectly ever since. Whew! I kept a paper journal Friday and Monday - Thursday, but not Saturday or Sunday. So I guess I didn't meet my goal, but I didn't scrap it for the rest of the week. Can I make a new goal this week? I don't want to put any junk food in my body. If it's not good fuel, I will NOT eat it. My favorite fall activity? Going to the pumpkin patch with the family and taking hayrides. |

Veteran 156 | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Back to where I started - 185. That big ol' pumpkin spice latte yesterday didn't do me any favors!! Have my last race of the season tomorrow so I wasn't planning to hit the gym for my "other goal" until next week. I think that my fav fall thing would have to be the big bonfires we have in the back yard when the evenings start getting a little chilly. The kids love it - the down side is to this is it often involves s'mores. Why does the fun, yummy stuff have to have sooo many calories - sigh~~~ To all those that are racing this weekend - Good luck and I hope you have a great time!!!

Expert 783 Spokane, Washington | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Hi there, am I too late to join? I just read this thread so I guess I missed the first one starting it up. So, just in case it's not too late... I'm Colleen in Spokane, WA. Today's weight: 181 Goal Weight: um, not entirely sure - how about 171 (This is by New Year's, right?) Secondary goal: 8-min core workout at least 3x/week. Favorite fall sport of activity: I don't think I really have one - but I still like running in the fall as it gets cooler and the leaves change. Trail running sounds great, but I don't live near very many trails. (edited to add secondary goal) Edited by c_cic 2007-10-05 8:37 AM |

Master 1219 Sachse | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 It has been a pretty good week. I stayed on track to meet my goals, feeling better, and having fun doing it. Start weight: 259 Week one: 254.5 (-4.5) Favorite fall activity....watching football.. lol.. but, that isn't that active, unless we are losing and I get mad. haha.. So, the other activity would be hiking / terracaching. I did a lot of it last fall. Nice long hiks, crossing streams, climbing trees..... all to find hidden objects. Most are like a large hiking puzzle. Keep up the great work everyone! Kenny |

New user 4 Santa Barbara | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Beginning weight: 231 Current weight: 229 Not sure that I really lost any weight this week as these numbers are within the normal range, however, I did well with my secondary goal of getting some sort or workout in 5x this week. If I can maintain that and get a little more serious about eating properly, the weight will really come off. Favorite fall activities are long bike rides through the beautiful countryside... and, of course, hiking. Also LOVE that it's football season - even though my team is having a little trouble this year. Have a great weekend everybody. Bill |

Expert 1580 Ankeny, Iowa | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Yesterday wasn't the best food but it was within calorie range so I was hoping for a good number. Starting Weight: 145.4 Today's Weight: 144.4 Change: -1 I have been stuck at 144.4 for most of the week - I dropped big at the beginning of the week and have maintained. I tend to get stuck here and a little lower so I am going to try to push through this time. Other goal - strength 3x - I have done it twice this week - I will add the third today. Favorite Fall Activity - I love watching college football with hubby if we just aren't outside doing something/anything. Usually we camp late into the fall but we will see what happens. Stacie |

Expert 821 Golden, CO | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Starting weight 222 Todays weight 221 (-1) Favorite fall sport - I would agree it is watching football - specifically going to a UW Badgers game in Madison on a warm day in September or October with the leaves turning color, the sun shining and 65,000 other fans. Just the walk to the statdium is worth the trip. |

Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Starting Weight: 164.8 Today's Weight: 160.8 Change: -4 Other goal - calorie logging- stayed under 2500 calories each day and getting within a couple precent of the 50% carbo 30% protein 20% fat breakdown I want.
Favorite Fall Activity - Football. 49er season ticket holder. Going to the game this Sunday will be bad for the diet as we usually get to the game and start tailgating (ie drink and east BBQ) 4 hours before game time. |

Veteran 169 Salt Lake City, UT | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Can I join? I really hope so. I really could use some support to hit my weight goals and complete a triathlon. My start weight as of today is 207.6 pounds. My goal weight for the end of the year is going to be hit 195. I've been over 200 pounds for about six years now, and I'm ready to go sub-200. My favorite fall sport is riding my bike on a pathway by my house, and just letting the cool air rush by, and ruffle up fallen leaves as I pass. Preferably with an I-pod playing something good, but since my I-pod doesn't work, I'll just saying biking. |

Veteran 169 Salt Lake City, UT | Subject: RE: New You by New Years - Weigh in 10/5 Oh, and my B goal is to drop to below 20% BF. I'm currently at 28-29% bathroom scale standard. I would love to see that at around a 20% bathroom scale standard before the end of the year. |
