I'm down 3.0 if you can believe. 155.8. Must have been PMS last week. Always hard to tell as I had a partial hysterectomy 3 1/2 years ago... I think I'm switching to CORE. I hate writing everything down and I really think my most successful weeks are those where I strictly avoid packaged anything. Plus it goes with my new motto... "Eat (real) food. Not too much. Mostly plants." We'll see how it goes this next week. My Plantar Faciitis is flaring up a little... got new running shoes today. Hopefully that will help. So far I'm right on track for my 1/2 marathon coming up in December and I really DON'T want an injury.... Oh, Halloween. Yes. I'm not sure what I'm dressing up as, but we have a party on the 27th so I need to figure that out! With my kids being 4, 6 & 8 it's a BIG holiday around here! |

I've found I keep up with it better if I use the eTools and just type everything in their tracker. I thought about switching to CORE since I rarely eat packaged foods anymore. My leader suggested I not. I was a little relieved since I don't know if I could magage self-control being able to eat whatever I wanted! I've been fighting it for about a month now. I got new shoes yesterday and am dying to try them out tomorrow morning. |

As for WW...haven't started yet, but I'm managing to maintain despite some emotional eating...which is good :-) Hi there, good to hear from you! You can always join along with us for morale support even if you're not 'officially' doing WW |

LOL Ouch Beth! How in the world did you cut yourself?? Don't you sometimes feel the world is against you trying to get and stay fit? LOLOL - nice support Terri! I hope it's not contagious! This has seriously been the strangest year that way Ok, so I am the worlds biggest klutz - I was talking with my folks on the phone and they were talking and talking and talking - I was getting restless (don't get my wrong, I love them, but I was ready to quit talking and they just kept going - lol) Anyway - I had the phone in one hand, was walking around and noticed that the floral arrangement I had in my kitchen needed to be tossed - soooooooo I picked up the floral arrangement, opened the storm door with my elbow (yes, talented, I know) Pushed open the door with by butt - didn't give myself quite enough clearance (clarence) so went for another hip bump, and blamo the storm door came swinging by and took a huge slice out of the back of my ankle - right where your shoe goes, right where every time you walk it flexes - When I woke up this morning, my ankle/heel still hurt quite a bit, so I decided I should maybe go have the cut checked out. Turns out, I should have gone in last night when I did it and gotten stitches. I had no idea that they won't do stitches after a cut has been open for more than 6 - 8 hrs. I guess it increases the risk of infection. So, long story short - they couldn't really do anything because of where it is located, right where you flex your ankle with every step you take!! - they gave me a tetnus shot, put me on an anti-biotic, and put a dressing on it. Crap! I'm not supposed to swim for a week. No idea how I will bike, cuz it will open up and hurt like hell with every pedal stroke. Not to mention the fact that I have no idea how I will put a shoe on. I'll give it a few days and then give a thick dressing, running shoes, and the eliptical a try. waaaa - LOL - can't keep a straight face and whine to you guys - I know I'll get all sorts of well deserved advice on how to perservere! Which, by the way is why I love this thread!

Expert 851 Oceanside, CA | Subject: RE: Winning with WW - 10/7 - 10/13 Oh gosh! Here I was teasing you when it's worse than I thought. My advice is to just cool it until at least the weekend. Then see about putting on a thick gauze bandage covered in some moleskin. Stay out of the water at least 2 weeks, since that's probaby how long you would have stayed out with stitched. Hugs! |

Regular 63 Birmingham, Michigan | Subject: RE: Winning with WW - 10/7 - 10/13 Beth, you poor thing! What a freakish thing to have happen. I hope you feel better soon. My sympathies to you... I had a ceramic butter dish fall and poke a hole in my foot last spring. I nipped a vein and the blood POURED out of this tiny little puncture. Once I got it to stop I was fine. But it put me out of commission for a few days. To those of you who asked, I'm doing the 1/2 Marathon on December 8th in Kiawah Island, SC. |

That sounds like it would hurt! Lots of running going on these days! How great to live in a part of the country that has opportunities for events all year long. Not the case here in Nebraska - lol |

Expert 1112 I'm a Tennessee girl living in SoCal. | Subject: RE: Winning with WW - 10/7 - 10/13 I had a great run tonight at the gym. I got in a total of 40 minutes including my WU and CD. During that time, I also got in 9 intervals of 30 seconds of running followed by 2.5 minutes of walking. I was actually only planning to do 8 and then did the time math and realized I'd lost count somewhere along the way. LOL |

Regular 63 Birmingham, Michigan | Subject: RE: Winning with WW - 10/7 - 10/13 Good for you, BunnyB! Actually, Beth, I'm in the same boat regarding the weather round here. The 1/2 marathon is in SC... I have to travel south for events too. Michigan is not a great place for a race in the winter either! They have an annual Jingle Bell run and Turkey Trot, but that's about it. It's COLD here in the winter (thought the weather's been crazy warm this fall so far). |

I hurry up and wait for everyone else - LOL Melissa and Jana - great runs! you lucky ducks - I never thought I would say this, but..........I wanna run...... Terri - that darn PF - so tough to get rid of! would you believe that my cut is on the same foot as the one that has PF - kind of ironic don't you think? My WI is tomorrow - feeling pretty good about it, especially since there will be no taco ride for me tonight :-( |

I was wondering about that. I think it's probably a good thing that it is the same foot. How awful for them both to be injured. My heel barely bothered me this morning, and I confess I didn't even stretch it before I got out of bed. Is that a bright light at the end of the tunnel? I certainly hope so. |

Is that a bright light at the end of the tunnel? I certainly hope so. As someone who's BTDT, keep stretching! When I was dealing with PF a couple of years ago, I got lazy about my stretching once it was feeling better. It wasn't long before it "reminded" me that I needed to still be stretching. Even now, I still do my stretches most mornings before I get out of bed. I've definitely been more mindful of making sure to do it now that I'm back to running. I have NO desire to go down the PF path again. |

Expert 851 Oceanside, CA | Subject: RE: Winning with WW - 10/7 - 10/13 Oh I will (keep stretching). It just didn't remind me it was there this morning, like it normally does after a day of walking. Plus I even walked .5 miles further than I have been, which doubly surprised me. I've been icing it and using a roller ball thingy on it in the evenings while I'm sitting watching TV with Husband and puppies. I've sort of taken over his man room! LOL |
