Subject: training program when doing other sports?
I have been planning my next season and deciding on a training program. I want to do an Oly or two next year and was thinking about doing my first in early June

I play soccer either 2 or 3 times a week for 4 hours. I don't run on soccer days. How do you integrate other sports activities into training schedules?

I was looking at the Oly training program here with emphasis on running because I'm bad at it. Running 3 times a week plus soccer 2-3 times a week seems too much running.

Does running in other sports help/hurt run training for tris?

i used to be a marathon runner and the summers i played soccer, I ran so much better.  I had a better pace per mile and my overall conditioning was better.  My recommendation would be to make sure and do some bricks, and you may not need to run much other than that.  What position do you play?    What does everyone else think?

I think soccer 2-3 times a weeks and running 3 times a week is a bit excessive. I am a soccer player and know that if you're are in a competitive league and are in a position that you run a lot, you can cover a few miles in a game. So use your soccer day(s) as your "speed" days and focus only on distance on your pure running days.

I agree, some bricks will probably be beneficial.
