I'm p*ssed. I'm in freaking Northern Virginia and it's 80 degrees. I'm sick of this....and so I doubt we'll have a crappy enough winter to play

I made myself a spreadsheet to calculate this last year.  If any of you want to use it to calculate your points, feel free.  I left an example in the Monday row so you can see how to fill it in.

Hey! Just thought of something else. What about swimming? Would you base points on water temperature or air temperature? For example, if the water temperature is 34 degrees and the air temperature is 15 degrees, how would you count that?

We had a pretty mild December in Wisconsin and one participant from Alaska was kickin all of our arses til the cold hit.  It was funny cuz when we saw it coming we were all psyched.

All goes on air temp.  I think swimming needs to be added as a plus 1.5 or 2 multiplier sub 50.

I'm in!  I'm setting up my 20 year old Gitane to ride in the crap.  I'd like to do some road work on the bike every month of the year.  Hell I rode in this morning at 35 degrees!  This might also push me outside to run a bit more instead of the indoor track and the machines.

I'm in...I'll probably pop in and out...I do have a half marathon in January, so all my Saturday long runs will be outside...

I dunno, it makes me feel better reading about other crazy people running in craptacular weather...

hmm. last year our yearly rainfall here in bahrain was 10cm - this year it was almost ten times, though. winds we get, but temps just don't go below 10°C. count me out of this one.

This sounds like a really fun challenge.  Too bad it doesn't get very cold in Virginia and rarely snows.

I'm in! This am was about 39 degrees and got me psyched. And that thread about how to stay warm in cold weather is cracking me up with posts on when to pile on clothing. For example, someone suggested a second layer of tights at anything below 40! LOL. I'm in shorts at 40 degrees! Actually the only thing that really gets cold on me are my hands and feet. And oh yeah, those ice cream headaches from below zero temps seem to disappear when I wear a wooly hat.

You can update your scores anytime during the week or daily on the thread for that week and I will go through and pull em off and compile by Tuesday the following week.

Sweet.  I am glad this challenge is happening again.  I was derailed by surgery last year, but really enjoy doing runs/rides in the cold.  I am in!

I can't wait to see who'll be first to claim swim minutes in an indoor pool for inclusion in this challenge.
