Subject: RE: Look Keo Sprints vs. Shimano 105 pedals I used to use Look pedals but I switched to Shimano, mostly because you can't walk on Look cleats. You have to use cleat covers. It was annoying as heck, because I'd always forget to take them off before I tried to clip in. Then I'd have to yank of the covers and stash them somewhere. Plus cleat covers get really dirty really quickly, and it's one more thing to remember. They're just a hassle all around.
Walking without covers was possible but they slipped on darn near anything. And even not walking, they were slippery - like on a wet road when you put your foot down to stop they could slide. I've also broken two of them while walking without covers.
I like the Shimanos because they have "walkable" cleats - no covers needed. And they're not slippery on wet roads. Edited by brucemorgan 2007-10-19 8:45 AM
