Don't be scared of me Kathy.... I'm at least 8-9% BF

And me either since the lowest I've seen is about 5.5%, usually around 7% or so.

Here are some random pics of me, my bike, and my trisuit. I don't have a pic of me in my trisuit as I haven't raced in it yet (no worries, it's been practiced in). I must give a shout out to my wonderful "sponsor " for the trisuit, because it's by far the nicest one I've ever owned. They're determination-length shorts too. I was hoping to go longer this year, but that didn't happen...

Here's a pic of me and my hubby, but my hair is shorter now

I am in for swimming on Friday and bike run on Saturday.  I am also going to drive the course on Friday.  I'm in for dinner on Friday night if anyone else is interested.

Is anyone else staying at the comfort inn?

Cool..I know you guys are nice. Whew not 4% hugh...just my nickname we use in my family.

I think it comes from me being fat for long time and struggling to feel like I belong. I did the training, paid my entrance fee..so I'll be there just like everyone else.

I should be running well into my first loop 7 days from now..

Hi! I just "found" this thread again... I will be at the swim start on Friday morning to meet and swim. I might be able to stop by Thursday morning too. It would be fun to find each other at the pre-race dinner!

Here are a couple of pics from 2008 Eagleman 70.3. (If I can manage to post them). The second one is taken with my oldest son. He and his wife will be in Lake Placid with me! My husband and 17 yr old daughter will be too. Unfortunately, my second son (the one who coaxed me into triathlon from marathoning and the one who qualified for and competed in Kona last year) is taking his Bar Exam in AZ the wk after IMLP so he cannot fly in. But believe me, his spirit will motivate me all day long!
I am very excited to meet all of you!

I'm in for a swim on friday as well.  I'll be up there tomorrow (tuesday) so I'll probably go for a short ride and swim on wednesday and a short run on thursday if anyone else is up there early.  Unfortunately I can't post a pic of myself since I'm at my in-laws, but I'll be wearing an Xterra wetsuit for the swim.  My race shirt will be what I have on in my avatar, blue Final Kick Sports tri top.

BTW, anyone else staying at the Adirondak Inn on Main Street?

Just found this post. Really excited about my first Ironman. All nervousness and anxiety have passed. I'm feeling very prepared and ready to go at this point. As far as times, I'm looking at finishing under 14 hours. Haven't given much thought to the splits, but I would like to run a 4-4:30 marathon. Oh, I'm #365.

Here's a couple pics of me and my steed. Nothing special about her, but she does the job! Just re-wrapped the handlebars with white tape this past weekend. Looks HOT!

p.s. Can't seem to get much done at work today

I will be leaving for LP Wed Am at 0800. It will likely take about 7 hours including stops etc. I am up for whatever get togethers everyone plans. My cell # is 215-803-9585. I will have my laptop there and i think i'll be able to get on line.

I anticipate doing only brief warm up ride, runs and swims just to stay loose and make sure everything is set up ok. Sounds like Friday Am is a group swim day so I'll be shootin' for around 8. I'd like to ride a short ride Thurs or Fri if anyone is interested and run also.

I am all packed, goin' out to cut the grass now and get a few other chores done...

Anyone have any experience with parking for the spectators around there? We'll be coming from Saranac lake area, and Im not sure if my family should park and walk, or use the buses.

Before you all take off for LP, just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck. Following along this thread has been pretty inspiring for me and convinced me that signing up for 2009 is the right thing to do.

You're all gonna be pretty d@mn awesome up there!!

It is a pretty long walk...we took the buses and it worked great..we parked in the area on the way to Saranac Lake.

Last year, my mom and I parked at the shuttle stop right outside of Lake Placid - it's not the Price Chopper plaza, but the shopping center before it?  It's listed in the spectator info.  We took the bus right to the oval...it was pretty hassle free.  I think they said it's a set schedule, but we found that the drivers just took off when they had some people ready to go.  I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes or so.

My sister is going to do the same thing this year, as she's not getting up to LP until later Sunday evening.  She's going to leave her car there overnight, as our house is on the bike and run course, so she won't be able to get the car in until after the race is over anyway.

BT Lake Placid Gatherings:

Thursday, Friday, Saturday 8:30am at swim look for a BT sign my kids made or wear your BT shirt, come to swim or just to visit
Friday: Athlete dinner..will decide where to try to meet up at one of the swims, ideally those who get there early try to save some seats
Monday: Lunch maybe at Lake Placid Brewhouse?

Any other fun things we are planning?

I'd like to meet for Mexican Thursday or Friday for lunch if anyone is interested.

Bummer- I will be at work Thurs and Fri at 8:30 -- and hosting a bake sale for my NYC Mary Charity team two towns over on Saturday morning. If plans change, I will come to the swim.

Best bet from Saranac Lake is definately to take the shuttle from that side of town. It will be well-marked- we don't have that many roads here!!!!

 GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
