Thanks for all the sick talk last week guys.  I came down with another sinus infection- had to go to the doctor yesterday and was prescribed antibiotics- just what I wanted this week.  Had to use a sick day today (but I will be going into work tomorrow before leaving for LP on Wednesday morning at some point).

No worries...Get into the fresh Adirondack mountain air and you'll be cleared up in no time!

BT Lake Placid Gatherings:

Thursday, Friday, Saturday 8:30am at swim look for a BT sign my kids made or wear your BT shirt, come to swim or just to visit
Friday: Athlete dinner..will decide where to try to meet up at one of the swims, ideally those who get there early try to save some seats
Monday: Lunch maybe at Lake Placid Brewhouse?

Any other fun things we are planning?

I'd like to meet for Mexican Thursday or Friday for lunch if anyone is interested.

Thats great your kids made a sign! That will help me and my bad eyesight out Im unsure of mexican for lunch Th/Fr just due to the others with me. That may have to be a last minute thing if it looks like it would work. I do loveeee mexican!

I'd like to do a group dinner. Hows 'bout Thurs at the Mexican restaurant?

Thursday for dinner is good. What time?

Remember if you are coming to watch or volunteer please come to our BT events too.

Actually, I think the good clean ocean air where I live may be better for me than the Adirondack air, where there is more stuff to possibly affect my allergies as well.  At least I got sick early enough to be fine for raceday.  And a super-fast friend of mine who is also racing got sick the end of last week as well, as he always seems to get sick before an IM and then has a great race.

Wow am I glad to hear that! Just got back from the doctor myself and got my secoond round of antibiotics fro a respiratory infection. She added singulair and mucinex for good measure. I feel like I'm doping. Oh well it is what it is. I hope I caught it in time.

 Feel better yourself.

Thanks Kathy. I've been reluctant to chime in on the group gatherings as it looks like I may be laying low. I will be at the swims tho.

Good luck to everyone heading up to Lake Placid.

I'll be up there being a good Iron Sherpa for my girlfriend. I am gonna try to stop by the swim so I will know who to cheer a little bit extra for on Sunday.

We are both with the TriLife team so when you see the sea of red come say hello.

V/R,

Rob

I am planning on swimming on Thursday and Saturday morning but was hoping to start a bit earlier. I'll do my best to meet up with everyone at one of the swims though. I love the idea of the sign Kathy. How awesome are your kids?!!!

Here's a pic of me from June at the LP half marathon...I'm the guy in the middle.

I'm riding a black Cervelo P2-SL with Zipp 606 tubies. Can't wait to meet everyone!!!

I might be laying low for dinner on Thurs. I have a kitchen and all my usual foods I want to eat. I might come out to socialize, but (and this is no offense to anyone) the less I feel I need to do and be on schedule for, the more relaxed I'll stay. I will probably definitely be up for meeting up with people on Monday. And, I'll be at the swim on Friday AM. Still not sure about the dinner. My condomate will probably drag me there.

I won't have Internet up there, but I do have a handful of your cell phone numbers, so I hope to catch up with you guys at some point. I am leaving Wednesday AM. Crazy!

No. When you go through town (away from the lake), and you take that left that takes you to the good bike shop, which I am totally forgetting the name of, Despos is just past the bike shop on your left. I think.

ok- JUST an FYI- large groups over 10 are next to impossible to seat together at Despos. You can be seated separately, and all tables are in the same general area.....but didn't want you to get there and discover that a party of what sounds like it could be 20 or more cannot be seated together. We love the business but do not have the room for tables that big. Many restaurants in Placid are small.

I am not trying to disappoint, just know that you guys will be nervous and excited and should be as prepared as possible for your plans.

I called and for us to sit together we'd have to get there early like 4:30-4:45 as they are a small place and Thursdays are busy nights.

I think it would be fun and going early would allow us to visit. Okay to move time up?

Good for you- just saw that my husband said he would pull together a 20 top for 4:30 for you. If you end up doing it, I may have a chance to sneak over depending on work schedule........before our own IM dinner guests roll in......

Kathy, I am in and I think I can talk the others into it as well since it is several days before the race. MissBethy will be in my group. I know you too have been chatting from time to time.
