Sorry if this was mentioned in a NYC thread somewhere, but if anyone saw Paula win at NYC this past weekend you saw a great performance.  I only saw the condensed coverage of the race on NBC in the afternoon, but it looked like she led pretty much from start to finish.  Gete Wami stayed on her shoulder for the entire race (no comment). In the last 1/2 mile Gete made an attempt to pass and actually did lead for a few moments.  I thought Paula was going to lose it but she came right back after a few seconds elapsed and then she put the hammer down.  She ran with the  heart of a lioness on Sunday.  She's my pick for Beijing.

Her baby is what, not even a year old yet and she blasts a sub 2:25 in NY?

I think she has lost a step from the pregnancyWink

Imagine how fast she would be if she didn't like a horse, with her head bobbing all over the place. I hope she wins Beijing.

and:

not looking forward to beijing though; if it's anything like japan the brits/europeans will be fcuked! for example our british girl who is based in japan was meant to do well this year. training there all year round yada yada. yeh training at 5am, and the mary was on till 9 am plus some - stupid stupid woman.

i presume paula is better prepared than that! and the head rolling seems to have stemmed somewhat go paula! shame the us trials were the same w/e as the nyc mary. would've been good to see what ryan hall et al came out with against lel and the likes.

might be our only medal

Hey I Lived in London for 6 years great city, it is a shame they don't have a beer drinking event at the Olympics then you Brits would be at least guarenteed of one medal. 8-)
