Subject: Hi from Waterloo Ontario!

First this site is so great! I'm glad I cam across it......
I have always wanted to try a duathlon so I tried a women's one in September and am now hooked, I can't wait for the upcoming season, however I know that I have a lot of work to do first. I need to slim down a bit and get in better shape before venturing out into the race scene again. I would like to try a triathlon but need to get my swimming going first.............Any tips on Training that anyone can share would be awesome!

Welcome! good luck training for a tri. Are there any Master's swim groups near you? Another thought is a book Total Immersion - it helps with swimming technique.

Yahoo!!!! another Canuck!! Welcome...slimming down & "getting in better shape" come with the training. Don't wait till you lose weight to start training

Welcome Lesley, from "friendly Manitoba" - just watch out for Glen, he's got a real thing about Canadians. Sheesh - I'm not sure what we ever did to him!! (just kidding )
