Guess I could learn how to read now:

On-line registration for 2008 Ironman 70.3 Kansas Triathlon is closed. Athletes may still enter the race by attending the race registration on-site this weekend.

Thanks for the correction, Veg!

Have you seen the run/transition area yet, click the link and hit street view, it is pretty cool!

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=38.913676,-95.374374&spn=0.015294,0.026436&z=15&layer=c

Should be a fun run course. Scenery will change a lot and there is the ability for people to watch nearly the entire way. Its always fun to run off road too....

You've got more swim and run volume in than I have, and since you are a young clyd and won't affect my placing, GO FOR IT MAN!

Soooo...we're over here with mr2tony practicing changing tires...

Let's just say...this is an adventure. We've already managed to blow one and the entire floor of our condo is pretty much deaf.

Awesome.

hahaha thanks for that!

To keep things light for this evening, I'm looking forward to:

-My sweet new Ironman brand swim cap
-Having a number written on different parts of my body with permanent marker
-Being back in the washing-machine of a triathlon swim [last time was in August]
-Hanging out with all the cool BT tri peeps again!

Yeeeaahhh... I tried to practice that the other night with no success. I am a freak and can't figure out how to change my own tire!?! On the bright side... I bought new tire levers and they are PINK! Wanna borrow them Tony?

Per KUJH-TV news reports they have shortened the swim to .2 miles!?

Just kidding....I happened upon this Youtube clip of what appears to be a news reporter's first day at work who can't get her facts straight.

Click here for a good laugh.

Thanks. Good advice.

RunningJayHawk's air pump said 110 but it popped anyway. I changed it again and filled it to 60 on their gauge and it was completely full. Methinks their gauge is wrong.

FYI, make that three flats this year for me including the one 8.5 miles from Bloomington Beach. See genius that I am I decided to do my warmup ride right before I got into town, just drove straight off the Turnpike straight to the beach. Well, remember yesterday when I said that I didn't have my CO2 shooter.

  • .....rescued by the RD from IM70.3Clearwater as he was marking the mileage on the course.

  • And I cracked my window driving here
And then I stepped in some gum waiting for Jiffy Lube to tell me that my crack is already too long to fix

If you know whats good for you, stay away from me. I'm jinxed and will probably be swallowed up whole near Stull.

On the plus side, saw Samantha McGlone as she was finishing up her warmup ride. She and the guy she was with were trying to figure out the run course, they decided to ditch it and go find a lonely country road to run on. Which is just as well as the course has changed once again to a two loop course.
