I'm pretty excited to do this in my old college town! I love Lawrence!

Any other chicago folks doing it?

I just registered for this one two days ago!! It will be my first one at this distance- YIKES!

Yeah let us know when a course ride is in order. Tom (climbin5414) and I talked about riding it at least a couple of times before the race... would love to join with friends.

I'll start a thread when the date is solid.  I'm still thinking that I'll ride the same weekend as the Olathe marathon, which is March 29th.  I might plan on riding March 30th, Sunday.

Yeah if you do a course ride definitely let me know because I live in Lawrence! I also planned on doing the Lawrence 1/2 marathon because I didn't know the Olathe one was sooner. I think I might switch to that one if I'm ready in time.

I'd be up for meeting some people there on a weekend to do a ride and a run. I think Lisa would be for it too.

I am signed up. I will be volunteering at the Topeka Tinman this year the day before.

Lisa and I might volunteer, or at least show up to cheer people on.

I'm in!  If any out of town BTers need a place to crash for the weekend, our house is open.  We have a guest bedroom in the basement with full amenities.  We're an hour from the race course.

Hopefully some of you were able to come out to the training run on the course last weekend...we had around 140 people out there!

The race is shaping up well...there will be a 2 day expo in downtown Lawrence with a concert on Friday night featuring Chicago legends Poi Dog Pondering!

We will then have a 5k/10k race on Saturday starting/finishing at the Ironman Expo.
The Adidas Rock Chalk...Run! will be a benefit for Kansas Basketball Coach Bill Self's charitable foundation. Come on down and say hello to Coach!
This is a great way for the loved ones of athletes to get involved with the weekend's events.

On race day....the NAVY SEAL LEAP FROG's skydiving team will skydive into the event during the national anthem...it should be quite a site!
