Let me ask you, what is the best way to attach the cord to the side of the pool? I don't have a ladder or rail in the pool.

You could use this:

StretchCordz - 6 ft Extension
6 ft extension for use with Short Belt (661000) where mounting device is not close to the pool. 6ft webbing attaches to fence or post.

And if you do, let me know how it works - I'm wondering about it for my pool next summer!
