Yup! I scouted the course this morning. The swim looks fine, the bike and run are along a road with absolutely no shoulder.... could be interesting, I don't think they close the road to traffic. I'm sure it will be fun.

I got a nasty cold from my kids that I'm trying to kick though.

Are you and your hubby going to do the same one?? Mine didn't get a new bike like me, so he'll be cheering me on from the side

Yep - this will be hubby's first one...

No shoulder huh...that should make things very interesting.

I don't care, I'm still gonna have fun!

Echinacea...but I'm sure you've done that already...hopefully the worst will be over by Saturday

karbates - I'll be wearing a pink under armor tank top, black compression shorts. peachy swim cap. We should try to meet up before or after the race! My goal is to get there as close to 7:30am as possible, but I'm also toting 2 kids and a hubby, so I'll likely be later.

Are you trying for a certain time or placing? Or just for fun?

Mostly fun, but also to get more transition experience!

I'll be in red tri top, black tri shorts...with two grumpy teenage boys, and a hubby! I'm aiming to be there around 8ish...AIMING...as long as we can get everything loaded in a timely manner....

Great! I hope we can find each other. I'm not sure what other identifying information I can give you..... we have a gold subaru outback, son who's 7, daughter 15months, hubby who's short and bald.... I don't know if there would be any cell service there, so cell #'s would be useless. I'm sure we'll both be rather preoccupied before the race getting things ready, so I'll definitely scan the crowds afterwards. It sounds like there will be some festivities afterwards. The only landmarks I know at the site are a playground, a pavillion, mens and womens bathrooms, and picnic area by the bathroom side. All are pretty general areas, and I'm not sure where all the stands and officials will be set up.

Not sure if you've been there before, but I got a bit disoriented when driving there the other day. If you're going north from Keene, you get on 12A, and the first sign I saw for Surry Lake was not where we were supposed to turn. The first and wrong turn is more of a diagonal right, the turn you want says Surry Rec and camping and is just a bit further up on the right with a ranger station. If that's confusing, disregard! You'll find it. But if you drive out on top of the dam, you made the wrong turn.
