Subject: Pace Timer Thingy...
I've heard of something that tells you how fast you're running. Not sure how it works, and wondering if it works at all. I think Nike makes one. Theres probably others. Anybody have any experience with one or know where I can find it? Thanks!

p.s. My first post in this forum so this may have been discussed before...

Do you mean like a GPS device like Garmin Forerunner or Timex Bodylink? Polar and Suunto also make a footpod version that uses stride length to calculate distance.

You are talking about the Nike + iPod sensor doodad. You put the sensor in your Nike (TM) shoe and insert another thingie in your iPod. It's OK. I have one. Seems semi-accurate,

I use the Nike + chip and find it fairly accurate. While I have had no problems, I've heard people do have calibration issues. In three specific cases the people took the chip back to Nike and were given new ones with no questions asked.
